Why are we solving this problem?

Market

Users often switch between different platforms to discover products, shop, book services and complete transactions.

Product

Shopping for a product and booking a service require very different journeys, making it challenging to bring them together seamlessly.

Impact

As more categories and services are introduced, users need a simple way to discover what they need without getting lost in the experience.

My Role & Team

I'm an Associate Senior UX Designer.

I contributed to the end-to-end design of Grouppal's Super Application, from defining the experience architecture and user journeys to designing core shopping, service and transactional experiences.

Proactive Discovery

MAP

Map the user ecosystem

We mapped the different needs users could fulfil through Grouppal, from discovering products and services to purchasing, booking and managing transactions. We broke down key journeys to understand how users discover, evaluate and act across different categories and experiences.

PAT

Identify common patterns

We identified common behaviors across different user journeys to create familiar interaction patterns throughout the app. This helped connect shopping, service booking & other experiences while keeping each journey flexible to its specific needs.

Findings

Insights From Discovery

Multiple paths, one need insight — flexible product and service journeys
01

Multiple paths, one need

A user's goal may lead them to a product, a service or a combination of both. The experience needed to support these paths without forcing users into rigid categories.

Discovery drives the experience insight — finding the right option quickly
02

Discovery drives the experience

With a wide range of products and services, helping users find the right option quickly was as important as the transaction itself.

More choice, clearer structure insight — information architecture across combined experiences
03

More choice, clearer structure

Bringing multiple experiences together increases choice, but without a strong information architecture, that choice can quickly become overwhelming.

My Takeaways

👥

Team

Working across a product with multiple business categories and user journeys taught me the importance of aligning early on priorities and dependencies. It helped me understand how decisions in one part of the experience could influence the broader product.

🛍️

Super Application

Designing the Super App shifted my thinking from "What feature are we building?" to "What is the user trying to accomplish?" This helped shape journeys that could support very different intents from discovering a product to finding and booking a service.

Design

The biggest challenge was making a wide range of choices feel simple. I learned to use hierarchy, progressive disclosure and contextual navigation to give users freedom to explore without making the experience feel overwhelming.
